The Haunted House Project was a good opportunity to create as part of a big team of people, with focus on organization, communication, making optimized assets for quick load time and the ability to follow a single art direction, which was decided to be a low-poly, hand-painted style.
During the brainstorming and concept art creation portion of the project we were tasked to follow a minimalist, hand-painted aesthetic for better game optimization. We were given a colour palette along with the general art direction. However, we were free to interpret our asset in any shape or form we best saw fit. My design was inspired by the Venus flytrap plant. By keeping the level of detail low and studying the reference artwork we were given to follow I came up with the concept piece bellow. I did not include different angles as the shape was basically the same all around so I had all I needed to start my 3D model.
